Colorado Ashes, LLC was initiated at a time we were involved in carrying out the cremation and funeral wishes of our own family members. We soon realized the need to plan and make our own arrangements which would involve unconventional or alternative practices. Our intent was to lesson the planning and financial burdens our families and friends would eventually face and to celebrate our lives in a manner which reflected how we lived much better than a cemetery plot or any marker could. Given our genuine love for the Rocky Mountains, we also want to preserve the earth by ensuring that the mountains and water sources are cared for and regulations for scattering are adhered to.

Perhaps you have visited a national park, forest or wilderness area in Colorado. If so, you likely experienced the grace, the aspirations, the calm and the optimism that nature offers high in the mountains where paradise and earth meet. It is this place that many people desire to forever rest, theoretically, by having their ashes scattered in the Rocky Mountains. Honoring a person's life high in the Rocky Mountains by scattering their ashes is anything but a somber event.

Our intent is to preserve the earth we were gifted, provide a dignified release of cremains, and fulfill an individual's or family's unique wishes. It is our hope that the person's loved ones will find a healing, a solace and a comfort in knowing that the ashes of the deceased are returning to the earth in the magnificent mountains and their final wishes accomplished. We make every effort to fulfill the desires of veterans, nature and mountain lovers, environmentalists or anyone who has yearned for the freedom and peace found in the mountains they love.

If you want to avoid the common, heavily traveled and frequently used scatter sites, we can find a more personal location by land journey. Ashes are scattered on national forest or park lands, not private property. Therefore, there is minimal concern for the long-term use or ownership of the land where cremains have been scattered. These locations also make it possible for friends or family to visit the site at a later date.

People around the world are seeking more personalized and unique exits, as well as responsible, economical and environmentally safe ways to care for their remains. Many who choose to have their ashes scattered often comment that they would rather leave a loving mark on the hearts of those who shared their lives than waste land, metal, plastic or concrete to encase a body left behind in an over-groomed cemetery. Others choose a scattering noting the lower cost or preferred feeling of freedom. Whatever your personal reason may be for choosing this option, we hope we can help fulfill your or your loved one's wishes with a distinguished and celebrated send-off, letting nature provide a headstone like no other.
